Contentious overcomes a rocky start and sets the fastest time for the G2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity. Second fastest qualifier and stablemate Bridgewater was well clear of the rest to get second.

Trained by Jose Flores, Contentious is now 2 for 2 so far this year under jockey Irving Lara. The filly won her debut back in March impressively by 1 1/2 lengths defeating several runners that were in the trials tonight.

Contentious is sired by Favorite Cartel out of the Stel Corona mare Quirky. She was bred in California by Steve Burns and is now owned by Jose Santos and Manuel Chavez.

Naughty Politics wins the La Plata Stakes in a blanket finish over Teller Perry Mrl. A Dream Fulfilled was placed third after a disqualification and Special D was moved up to fourth.

Trained by Anthony Montoya, Naughty Politics wins for the fourth time of her career. This was the four year olds first stakes win after finishing sixth in the G3 West Texas Maturity last time out in her only other stakes performance. Gabriel Medrano was the winning jockey.

Naughty Politics is sired by Apollitical Blood out of the Swingin Jess mare Naughty Jess. She was bred in Oklahoma by Nick Reynolds and is now owned by Leonidas Loya.
